This blog is about what happens on the field trips that will occur throughout the course of the year whilst photographing birds on the Mid North Coast of NSW Australia. Migratory waders are counted locally and will be photographed and documented for the national bird count. The latest pics from these trips will be added to my portfolio on silvavaughanjones.com

Last Friday was a visit to the north shore Port Macquarie with Hastings Birdwatchers, always a good day with plenty to look at. For me - what we see and what I am able to photograph are two different realities! But after unsuccessfully chasing some scrub wrens down Lime Burners Creek – I did end up with a great opportunity to photograph a Willie Wagtail nest with her and two babies, just fantastic. The shot is now edited and up on my website www.silvavaughanjones.com

Love the site! 8962 is my favourite! I need some more instruction regarding that Aperture business. I'm a bit "foggy" with it!
