This blog is about what happens on the field trips that will occur throughout the course of the year whilst photographing birds on the Mid North Coast of NSW Australia. Migratory waders are counted locally and will be photographed and documented for the national bird count. The latest pics from these trips will be added to my portfolio on silvavaughanjones.com

Pelican Island trip
Another trip to Pelican Island on the 15th January for the bird club to count the waders was a top day as usual. The company is always good and the birds totally enchanting, - big mix of shore birds – Eastern Curlews, Whimbrels, Bar-tailed Godwits, to name but a few, - shot of the day was - six Red-necked Stints mucking about next to the sleeping Godwits. I have not put this one on the site yet!

Beautiful photos, Silva. You have made me very homesick. Brooke and I have just been up to O'Reilly's in Lamington NP which is also a great bird-watching destination. B has bought a new Pentax digital SLR and had great fun trying to get pics of them while they clawed me to death at feeding time! Web page looks great, too. Cheers, Kimberley
